Headteacher blog - 3 April 2020
The whole school team are really thinking of you all, and missing the children dreadfully! We are determined to continue to provide quality learning opportunities for everyone, but also recognise the huge challenges that the combination of the children's home learning, adult job commitments and ensuring the children have some down time, represents. It is very difficult to get information and the 'offer' of activities right for every family situation, but we are trying really hard to do so.
We are really keen to get your feedback, and so will be sending out a really brief questionnaire later. If you do have any questions, suggestions or feedback, which you feel needs a longer response do e-mail me at: s.guthrie@kingshill.viat.org.uk
In the meantime, please find attached a letter outlining the arrangements for Easter. There is to be no daily work set, but rather a list of activities should you wish to do these.
We have uploaded some information about competitions and some science Dyson Challenge cards to our website under the home learning section, Easter Activities. There will be no communication from school through Dojo or Tapestry over the holiday, so please do contact me direct on the e-mail above if you need anything.
In the first week back commencing Monday 20th April, English and Maths Daily learning will be uploaded on the website in the usual away, or shared through Tapestry. In this week the new class stories / texts will also be shared with you to read together at home. This week will also give you the opportunity to catch up with any of the wider curriculum tasks from Term 4, and time to enter a class baking competition! See details below.
New wider curriculum activities linked to the Term 5&6 Curriculum Rockets for each year group will be uploaded on to the website from Monday 27th April.
We do thank everyone across all the schools for all their hard work, and to you all for all your help in sharing the brilliant learning going on at home.
We wish you the very best Easter break.
Stay safe, best wishes,
Steph Guthrie
