Trip to Shorne Country Park
On Tuesday, Year 3 had a fabulous day out at Shorne Woods. We did some team building and problem-solving games together involving magical carpets, memorable mazes and a treacherous river crossing! Then we split into 3 groups to explore the woods for some geo-caching. Mrs Covey’s group faced the challenge of having to climb Cardiac Hill (it was VERY steep and VERY long!) and Mrs Eldred’s group developed a new found respect for brambles!
After lunch, we spent the afternoon creating dens in the forest school area and they were each tested to see how waterproof and comfortable they were (Mrs Nikshiqi’s group even had a washing line and soft furnishings!).
It was brilliant to see all the children work as a team, face challenges and enjoy the fresh air together. They have been writing the day up in the form of a kenning and here are Ella’s reflections about the day:
- Cache-hunter
- Den-maker
- River-crosser
- Ball-challenger
- Muddy-footer
- Splinter-warrior
- Swamp-survivor
- Coach-sleeper
- Tired-explorer!
