Year 4 Class Trip
On Thursday, Year 4 travelled to Samphire Hoe in Dover for Science and Art workshops. This piece of land was created when digging the Channel Tunnel from the clay and earth removed to form the structure.
They spent the morning closely observing fossils and shells found on the site and creating scientific drawings.
They then went for a walk along the sea wall and drew the landscape. In the afternoon, they completed various scientific observations such as using an anemometer to measure wind speed, creating smelly pots from the plants and using classification keys to identify invertebrates.
Everyone had such a wonderful time despite the gale force wind!
