On Thursday afternoon, Mr Littleton took a group of Year 6 children to Invicta to take part in the VIAT Trampette ball tournament. Our INCREDIBLE children showed unbelievable teamwork and skill to finish the tournament as CHAMPIONS! We are so proud of each and every one of them!

Essential skills

  • A motivation to work in a role that really makes a difference to children’s lives.
  • The ability to work with a team in a responsive and flexible manner, responding to the instruction and advice of the SENCo, school team and class teachers.
  • An aptitude for reflective practice. To see solutions in daily support, in own practice and that of the team.
  • To share ideas for the adjustment of learning so that pupils with SEND know and remember more.
  • To build effective trusting relationships with the whole school team and link professionally with staff.
  • A willingness and interest in using CPD to further develop career.

Desirable skills

  • Experience of working with pupils with limited verbal communication who use alternative communication systems such as visuals or Makaton.
  • The desire to work creatively when making and using resources to help children learn.

 Qualifications

  • Teaching Assistant experience and qualifications are ideal, but not essential for the right candidate.
  • Experience/secure understanding of how to support pupils with social and emotional difficulties.
