National Nurture School Award
Valley Invicta Primary School at Kings Hill has been awarded its National Nurture School Award.
Nurture UK is a leading organisation dedicated to improving the social, emotional, mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. The National Nurturing School Award is granted to schools that show commitment to promoting and embedding the 6 nurturing principles.
Headteacher, Steph Guthrie, said: “This important award reflects our inclusive and respectful ethos. Having carried out specific work to further identify, recognise and support pupils through a nurturing approach we are delighted to receive this accreditation.”
The Award recognises achievement in fostering a nurturing culture in the whole school and is underpinned by the knowledge that all children’s learning is understood developmentally and that wellbeing, language and behaviour are all as important for a child to thrive. The Nurture UK assessor ensured information was collated by staff, parents, Governors and pupils and commented on the hard work which has gone into the development of our nurture practice.
